Petitions get filed and forgotten. Protests are photographed and ignored. The one thing that works is enough people moving money and attention out of extractive systems at the same time — too many to absorb. That is what this page tracks.
The three phases of every campaign
Phase 1
Build the alternative first. Nobody leaves Spotify with nowhere to go. The cooperative exit has to exist and work before the pressure campaign starts. Shapeless (85% to creators), Doubloon (cooperative wallet), ShapelessNet (cooperative internet) are the landing zones being built now.
Phase 2
Publish the arithmetic. Not rage, not slogans — specific numbers. At $0.003 per stream you need 250,000 plays to earn one month’s minimum wage. Leviathan gas fields belonged to all Israelis; the 2015 deal gave them to one family for a $11M exploration license that became a $70B asset. When the math is undeniable, people who were indifferent start moving.
Phase 3
Move together, on a date. One person cancelling Spotify is invisible. One million people cancelling the same week is a news story and a quarterly earnings hit. Simultaneity is the only lever that actually matters. Every campaign on this page is building toward a specific coordinated action date.

Leave the streaming machine
Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music pay artists $0.003–0.005 per stream. To earn one month of minimum wage requires roughly 250,000 plays. The same investment funds that own Spotify also own the major labels — so the “competition” between platform and label is between two arms of the same ownership. The cooperative alternative pays 85% directly to creators from day one.

Own the infrastructure, not just the platform
Every cooperative platform that runs on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is still paying rent to the same ownership class. BlackRock and Vanguard own Amazon, Microsoft, and Google simultaneously. The cooperative economy needs its own physical infrastructure. Campaign IL-1 · Housing
Break the housing monopoly
The average Tel Aviv apartment costs 40–50 annual salaries. Planning permission to completion takes 13 years by design — scarcity is manufactured by developers with political connections. The Baugruppe cooperative housing model from Germany runs 60% of Berlin rental housing at 30% below market. It is legal today in Israel. Histadrut has 800,000 members and an unrevoked mandate to launch cooperative enterprises — a cooperative housing bank requires a union leadership vote, not a Knesset majority.
What to do right now

Contact Histadrut directly. Ask your sector union why there is no cooperative housing initiative under the existing charter. The mandate is there. The question is whether leadership will use it.

Campaign IL-2 · Natural Gas
Take back the gas dividend
The Leviathan and Tamar gas fields sit in Israeli Mediterranean waters. They belong to all Israelis. In 2015, the government approved a deal giving Yitzhak Tshuva’s Delek Group extraction rights at rates critics called far below the asset’s value — the exploration license cost $11M; the asset became worth $70B. Alaska gives every resident a direct annual dividend from oil revenues ($1,312 in 2023). Norway taxes gas extraction at 78% and built a $1.7 trillion sovereign wealth fund. Israel taxes its gas at roughly 12%.
What to do right now

Share the comparison — Norway 78% tax rate, Israel 12%. This single number is the whole argument. It needs to reach every Israeli who pays a gas or electricity bill.

Support the Citizens’ Gas Trust initiative in Knesset — a referendum on gas royalty structure requires 200,000 petition signatures. That number is reachable.

Stop paying the pension fee compound
Every Israeli worker pays 1%+ of their pension per year in management fees to private companies — Harel, Menorah, Phoenix. Over a 40-year career, compound fees consume 25–35% of total retirement savings. The pension system was privatized in 2004; the companies that benefited lobby aggressively against any reduction in fee caps. A cooperative pension manager charging 0.1% management fee — the international cooperative average — would return hundreds of thousands of shekels to the average Israeli retiree.

Check your pension fee. Log in to your pension account and find the annual management fee percentage. Then calculate what 1% of your savings compounded over 30 years actually costs you.

Ask your employer’s HR whether the company can shift pension contributions to a cooperative or low-fee manager. Many employers are unaware this is an option.
